#wasteland was originally the "oper hangout" when the Undernet was
founded. Today it is mostly a technical channel for discussions on IRC
and the IRC Protocol, as well as a gathering place for some of the people
who have been on Undernet the longest to meet with friends and talk about
the good old days.
#wasteland never was, is not, and never will be a help channel. In
addition, #wasteland is not the best place to find an Operator anymore
since most of the current regulars do not participate in Undernet
administration.
While we don't mind new faces once in a while, please do not join the
channel to ask for help or to look for an Operator. We get many of these
requests, and when we get frustrated enough, you might not like our
response to your query. :-)
